Meeting each project's aims

Many schools met their aims.

Parents of pupils with special needs benefitedbfrom partnerships with other parents.

Many parents were often surprised at how able their children were and enjoyed the same experiences as their children, learning similar skills. Some experienced these activities for the first time. Others developed new working relationships with their children especially in physical activities, health education, ICT and encouraging achievement.

Opportunities for new learning and communication in different languages led to people feeling valued.

Learning resources available for use at home with music and reading were created.

Use of ICT and web sites helped improve involvement for under-confident pupils and supported some parents to acquire and use new skills.

Parental ideas were used to support the curriculum and to develop cross-curricular links. Ideas arising from several projects will be used with other ages, underachieving and less confident pupils or offered to other schools.

Open days, work sessions and courses provided opportunities to meet and share ideas and experiences about learning. Archaeology was a new experience for some and others developed a better understanding of citizenship. Work with gifted and talented pupils provided a practical understanding of different work for different groups.
